Netsoft have officially started the development of its Res~Call PRIMHD reporting module that will allow its client base to meet the new MOH reporting requirements from May 1st 2010. Due to the level of sophistication of PRIMHD, the requirements are complex (e.g generation of monthly XML files to be integrated into the centralized MOH driven PRIMHD reporting engine) – particularly for Mental Health providers attempting to interpret and meet the new standards. The reporting module takes the complexity away from the provider, allowing them to focus on delivery and maintaining of service levels.
What information is captured in PRIMHD?
PRIMHD captures data, provided by contributing DHBs and NGOs since 1 July 2008, which describes who receives what services from whom. (This was previously captured by MHINC - Mental Health Information National Collection)
- The data collected includes: dates of referrals to and discharges from services, service activity (including ECT, seclusion and leave data), provider team, demographic information (eg gender, date of birth, ethnicity) and DHB information on legal status and diagnosis
PRIMHD captures DHB outcomes data in the form of HoNOS - Health of the Nation Outcome Scales. (This data is sourced from the DHB’s system application for MH-SMART - Mental Health Standard Measures of Assessment and Recovery initiative)
PRIMHD integrates legacy MHINC data only. (ie referrals and activities data provided by DHBs and 29 NGOs to MHINC from 2000-2008).
How does it work?
District Health Boards (DHBs) and Non-government organisations (NGOs), who provide publicly funded mental health and addiction services, electronically send their referral, activity and any outcomes data to the PRIMHD system at the Ministry of Health using secure information transfer protocols.
Most DHBs and NGOs send their data to PRIMHD monthly in arrears; for the previous months’ mental health and addiction services.
The Ministry collates and analyses the data to produce anonymised reports which will be made available to the sector and stakeholders.
